Curriculum

By this age group, the focus turns to preparing students for the successful taking of formal Russian examinations such as GCSE and A-Level. There is a lot of work on Russian classical literature, more attention to grammar (rules & exceptions, tenses etc.) and the development of reasoning and public speaking through group discussions.

There is a much greater emphasis on history and geography and the students can help develop their teaching skills by assisting smaller children at the school with their coursework.

Regular assessment is also introduced with ‘pop tests’, which aim to get students accustomed to taking examinations.
